Kalahari Resort in Round Rock Texas is now open! My family and I visited the largest indoor water park in the United States, Kalahari in Round Rock Texas during Thanksgiving week this year.

Now, this isn’t gonna be a mommy blog post on Kalahari. Lots of respect to those mommy bloggers and their littles. However, my family consists of my Gen X parents and my twenty-something sister and I. We’ve got no kiddos but saying this we enjoyed Kalahari Resort as much as the kids around us did.

This indoor waterpark boasts multiple waterslides fit for every age, a lazy river, a giant wave pool, a kiddie pool, a water jungle gym, a surfable wave, and my personal favorite, the Grotto, a swim-up bar.

We visited in November, one of the colder months in Texas. Although, you would never know when laying out by the wave pool, pop music videos playing on their large screen, with a bomb pop alcoholic drink in hand.

Now, if you know anything about me you know that one of my favorite things is poolside drinking. The Grotto takes this idea to a whole new level. How? Because you never have to leave the pool to receive your drink. You can wade about the pool to tables or even outside if you want to soak up the sun.

Both times we have visited Kalahari we have stayed for one night and were able to enjoy the water park both days. When you stay overnight at Kalahari you receive up to 4 wristbands with the option to buy 2 more at $25 per person (Nov 25, 2020). These wristbands work for your entire stay and can be used for payment across the resort.

I highly recommend it to parents and my fellow twenty-somethings out there. No matter the age Kalahari is a SO FUN spot!
